Come join us for our first networking event of 2019. We will be getting together at the University of Wollongong for a night of connecting, learning and sharing. 

This month we will be joined by two wonderful speakers exploring the area of creative business solutions for local businesses.

• Jade Andrews from UOWx will be sharing how local business can benefit and engage with the visionary UOWx program.
• Mia Maze,  Innovation Hub Manager, will give us an update on the Innovation Hub and the programs running this year.

UOWx
One of the key drivers for UOWx is to help students increase their employability. In the process of creating UOWx, we sat down with over 25 employers from a range of industries and posed the question, ‘If everyone has a degree, how do you choose who gets the job?’ They all pointed to the skills and experience students had gained outside of the classroom. Each employer highlighted the importance of soft skills that are gained through work experience and volunteer opportunities. UOWx connects students with valuable co-curricular activities offered at the University of Wollongong. The personal and professional development that they gain through these activities is formally recognised through the UOWx Record and UOWx Award when they graduate. Hear from Jade Andrews, the UOWx Project Officer, as she explains UOWx and its benefits to local employers and the Bega community.
